When you choose to be seen by one of our caring endodontists, a radiology-certified dental assistant will take an X-ray, and an exam will be performed by the endodontist to help diagnose the problem.

The endodontist will explain and discuss the treatment options with you.

If a root canal is the best option available to save your tooth, you may decide to have it done right away or schedule an appointment for a later date.

If you choose to proceed with the treatment, a local anesthetic will be injected, as is usually done for a regular filling.

You will be offered a choice of Netflix or regular TV programming as you wait for the anesthesia to take effect. Your tooth will be isolated with a rubber dam to protect your airway and the working area.

The treatment may take anywhere from 30 to 90 minutes, depending on the difficulty level of the procedure.

Afterward, another X-ray will be taken to check the completed root canal, and a temporary filling will be placed in your tooth. You will be given discharge instructions and sometimes a prescription for pain medication and/or an antibiotic if indicated.

We ask that you set aside about 2 hours for the entire office experience. Our doctors like to explain things in great detail, and they will even draw a diagram for you.

To schedule an appointment, please call (561)-333-2522, and one of our staff members will find a  date and time that works best for your schedule. Should you have any additional questions, please do not hesitate to ask.
